Franz Binder GmbH & Co. Elektrische Bauelemente KG has acquired the commercial operations of the Pforzheim-based Eucrea Group’s insolvent companies, effective retroactively from 1 June 2019.

The four companies include surface coating specialists FMB Technik GmbH and Weinbrecht & Kücherer Oberflächenveredelung GmbH (the latter is best known to the wider public for plating the statues given out at Germany’s ‘Bambi’ television awards) as well as EUCREA Industrieservice GmbH, which specialises in the construction of galvanic systems, and eucrea HEXAGON Holding GmbH. binder will transfer the four firms’ key assets into a single company, which will go on to operate on the market under the name ‘binder galvanic surfaces’.

Pooling strengths
Markus Binder, General Manager of the binder group, is optimistic about the future: “This new area of the business allows us to pool our strengths and broaden our expertise. binder galvanic surfaces is the perfect addition to our group of companies, and we are looking forward to the challenges ahead.” Almost all of the 100-plus jobs within the former Eucrea Group companies will be retained, and will be concentrated at the Pforzheim site in the future.
